Valens Enhanced Access Service
What is the Valens Enhanced Access Service?
This service operates outside of the practice’s core opening hours. It is run by Valens Medical Partnership’s multidisciplinary team of health professionals and offers a limited number of same-day appointments with GPs and other members of the healthcare team. Some pre-bookable practice appointments are available every weekday evening and on Saturdays.
Opening times
From 1st October 2022, one of our main practice sites will be open until 8pm for pre-booked appointments. Please note this is not a walk-in service and our healthcare team will only be able to see patients who have already booked an appointment that evening.
We are also open on Saturday mornings 9:00am to 1:00pm at one of the main sites. Again, some of these appointments will be pre-booked with some available to book on the day by phoning one of the practice contact numbers.
On Saturday afternoons 1:00pm to 5:00pm, the Cramlington Hub based at Village Surgery in Cramlington will also offer some appointments. These can be pre-booked by contacting the practice.

What appointments are offered?
Any registered patient at a Valens GP surgery can book a telephone consultation with a GP or pre-book an appointment with one of the healthcare team if they are running an enhanced access clinic. Our clinicians have full access to your patient record (subject to you giving your consent for this).
The service is suitable for routine matters, and for accessing healthcare advice on a Saturday. You may particularly benefit from this service if you are unable to attend the surgery during working hours.
What we do not offer
- Any services after 8pm. Outside of these times you can access Out of Hours services via 111.
- Home visits. Patients who wish to request an urgent home visit after 6:30pm should contact 111.
- Walk-in, minor injuries or emergency care. Please attend the local urgent care centre or A&E if you need urgent attention.
How do I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment by simply calling your GP practice during its usual opening hours, Monday to Friday.
To access the same-day enhanced access service on Saturday mornings between 9:00am and 1:00pm, patients can contact their surgery number as usual.
Site locations
Our clinics are based in our existing GP practice sites in Ashington, Cramlington, Lynemouth, and Morpeth. We will give you details of where the service is based when you contact us for an appointment.
