The midwife carries out ante-natal clinics at Cramlington and Seaton Delaval surgeries and will see a patient at any time during her pregnancy and postnatal period.

Appointments at Cramlington Surgery are every Tuesday.

Appointments at Seaton Delaval Surgery are every Thursday.

Please contact reception at your regular surgery to book an appointment. Patients registered at Seaton Sluice Surgery can see the midwife at either Cramlington Surgery or Seaton Delaval Surgery.

Diabetes

These clinics are held regularly by appointment only.

 

Respiratory

This clinic is for patients with Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and other respiratory problems.

 

Cardiovascular Disease

This clinic is held regularly by appointment. All patients with heart disease, a history of stroke, and other circulatory problems are invited annually.

 

Contraception Clinic

We offer a contraception clinic with our Practice Nurse Lynn Chapman. Please contact reception to book an appointment.

 

Hypertension

This clinic is to monitor people who have been diagnosed with high blood pressure. A full review once a year including fasting blood tests are performed as well as a 6 month BP only check.

Travel clinic

This is a practice nurse run clinic. Please make an appointment at least one month before travel. You will be given a form to fill in with the details of where you are going so that the nurse can give you personal advice on staying healthy and which vaccinations or other medication you may need. Young children may be asked to see a doctor for their vaccinations. If you require vaccinations at short notice and we do not have an available appointment you will be given details of the Travel Clinic in Newcastle. (They may charge for their services). Please ask your surgery for our fees for Travel Vaccinations.

Patients are required to fill out a Travel Vaccination Form before their appointment with the practice nurse, please ask your surgery for our travel form. Once completed bring the form along to your appointment for the practice nurse.

Midwife-led clinics are on a Tuesday (PM only) and all day Thursday by appointment only.

New Pregnancy?

You have to attend an Early Pregnancy session, which is every Monday 9.15am at Ashington Children’s Centre. After you have been to an Early Pregnancy session they will make you a Booking Appointment with a midwife again at Ashington Children’s Centre, every Tuesday & Wednesday.

Postnatal clinic

The postnatal clinic is run by Dr D Wall, who will provide advice on contraceptions, smears (if due) and any problems you may be experiencing following the birth of your child. Speak to reception for an appointment.

 

Asthma

Asthma clinics are held by the Practice Nurses who will go through inhaler techniques, medication changes and lifestyle advice.

 

Diabetic clinic

The clinic is run by the practice nurse however, patients have an initial check with one of our Health Care Assistants who will then book you in with a Practice Nurse who will go through your results and provide any medication changes and lifestyle advice.

Patients also have an annual eye check from local optometrist and foot checks from a community podiatrist. They may see the dietician for dietary advice.

 

Ear care clinic

Our ear care clinic is held on Wednesday afternoons and is run by our District Nursing Team. They can provide advice regarding ear care and if need be can provide ear suction.
