Valens Medical Partnership at Seaton Delaval
Our Seaton Delaval surgery, originally part of Brockwell Medical Group, is now part of the single practice known as Valens Medical Partnership, which also merged Wellway and Lintonville Medical Groups.
Our Seaton Delaval surgery has 9 GPs who also work across our surgeries in Cramlington and Seaton Sluice.
You are welcome to see the GP of your choice and we encourage patients to try and see that GP for ongoing conditions. This makes consultations more effective, when the doctor can recall the history of your problem, and enables you and your GP to build a trusting relationship which is so important in General Practice. We recognise that for acute problems if your GP works part time or is on leave you may need to see another Doctor.
The GP Partners value their members of staff who are encouraged to develop skills and share ideas, thoughts and concerns which ultimately enhances the care provided to our patients.

NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown below. However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in this practice in the last full financial year was £94,501 before Tax and National insurance. This is for 15 full time GPs, 17 part time GPs and 3 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
The practice supports the NHS policy of Zero Tolerance which defines violence as:
“Any incident where staff are abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances related to their work, involving an explicit or implicit challenge to their safety, well-being or health”.
Violence and aggression towards a person may also be defined as:
“A physical contact with another person which may or may not result in pain or injury. The contact is uninvited and is an attempt to cause harm, injury or to intimidate. Non-physical aggression includes the use of language which causes offence or threatens the safety of a member of staff”.
The practice takes a serious view of any incidents of physical and verbal abuse against its employees and will support them, if assaulted, threatened or harassed, so long as the employee is correctly carrying out his or her duties.
